Vintage Neon Products Inc. Pontiac Dealer Clock with Indian Head Logo, Very Rare:
$675.00
If you love Pontiacs and/or vintage neon clocks, this one\'s for wrinkle finish
Please examine the photos carefully. The clock wears its history well. It has its original navy blue wrinkle finish, with small areas of scratches, minor rust, and stray wall paint. It still has the original \"Neon Products Inc., Lima Ohio\" decal on the back, as well as a fragment of a \"Built by: / Inspected by:\" sticker on the transformer box. It sits on two rubber feet, has a handle for easy carrying and two \"D\" rings for hanging. It has the original push-button switch for turning the neon on and off. Otherwise, the wiring has been replaced for safety, with a 10 foot cord for convenience.
The clock appears to have its original hands and movement and keeps very accurate time. I have not been able to detect any variation over several days. The mechanism makes only a faint whirring sound if you listen closely.
The face is in very good condition for its age. Please note that the photos make the red of the logo look much brighter than it is. The red and blue appear oxidized, like flat finish paint. I chose to leave it as-is rather than risk damaging it. If you look closely, there are some small chips which can be seen in the close-up photos. Otherwise the face is in beautiful condition.
I have not been able to determine the clock\'s age in my online research, but I have read that Pontiac used the Indian head logo until 1956. My best guess is anywhere from the 1930s to the 1950s. (If you have more information, please contact me.) When I say rare, I mean I have been able to find only one other example online, in much worse condition, sold several years ago.
I would prefer that the buyer pick it up locally and avoid the risk ofshipping damage. I realize that this may not be possible, however, so...
If you require shipping, I will take the clock to a FedEx location for professional packing and shipping, andyouwill pay all costs (but not more). Please contact FedEx directly for an estimate.
I will be happy to answer any questions you may have (except shipping cost).
Thanks for looking, and good luck with your offer!
