Please be aware that photos # 9, 10 and 11 were taken in a darkened room with light coming through a window, as this was the best way, in our opinion, to show the extensive moth damage on this piece: many of the moth bites go through the fabric and you can see the little holes on those photos.
The rug is thin, and relatively light weight due to that factor and its small size. We believe it shows the traditional Navajo \"Yei\" figure. Each \"Yei\" has a beautiful blue necklace with a \"stone\" at the end. The decorative edges are medium gray. We made some close-ups so you can inspect colors and other details and judge by yourself.
This seems to be a rustic Navajo product, and we believe it is also very old. It doesn\'t seem to have been made for the tourist trade, but feels rather like something made by a weaver for her own home. But we are no experts and that is just our opinion, so please take it with a grain of salt.
It has several \"lazy lines\" that are not obvious on the photos, but are detectable easily when inspecting this at close range.
We acquired it rustically nailed to a wooden frame. The frame has no special characteristics and therefore we removed the rug from the frame to make it easier and cheaper to ship. If someone out there is interested in the frame, please contact us before the end of the sale so we can provide information about it and the price of shipping both the rug and the frame.
The difference in color between the darker side (pic # 1) and the \"sun bleached\" side (pic # 12) is more apparent when looking at the rug \"in person\".
