Vintage Oktava Microphone Transformer 6:1 or 12:1 ratio

This is a tube microphone transformer made by Oktava. Tube microphone transformers are also a great upgrade for FET type mics too, because the inductance of the tube mic transformer must be much greater, so it provides a smooth wide bandwidth in any microphone or preamp situation.

Oktava has always been famous for the transformers, which is one reason so many modders love to upgrade them.

It can wired to give you 12:1 or 6:1

12:1 is ideal for microphones in the 12 AU,AX,AT 7 family.

Every vintage T14 transformerfound in the original AKG C12 we\'ve ever measured measures something near 12:1. Some people believe they are 14:1 because of the 14 in the name, but that doesn\'t appear to be the case.

6:1 is great for many Neumann tube microphones like the M49 and M269.

These ratios and be a bit variable depending on your microphone 12:1 will sometimes be an ideal upgrade for a 10:1 transformer, some mics maybe have a 5:1 but 6:1 may work great too. Some 14:1 transformerscan be replaced with the 12:1.
