~ Vintage Taxco feather repousse bypasssterling silver ring. Steller design andmaster craftsmanship~

Repousse isa metalworking technique in which amalleable metalis ornamented or shaped byhammering from the reverse side to create a design inlow relief. Sometimes the reverse side is left open exposing the backside of the designs. With this ring however an additional layer of sterling was overlaid upon the reverse side adding strength and making for a very comfortable smooth feel against the skin.

Size: 6 1/4 witheach half almost touching. It will expand up to about size 7 without halves beginning to look too far apart.Perhaps the safest way to expand ring is on a ring mandrel, preferrably a metal one. This applies even pressure on the inside of shank as it expands which helps prevent crimping. Rotate ring during this process for even expansion.Also, it\'s always a good idea towarm sterling first against skin before expanding.
