This is a vintage Oriental Bisque and Composition Squeaker Doll from the 1940\'s or even earlier. My parents purchased this item from an antique shop and it was on a shelf in our China Closet from the late 1950\'s until it was boxed and safely stored away in the 1980\'s. I\'ve recently unpacked this item and through internet searches found out this doll is a \"squeaker\" doll. When you press his belly he squeaks. The squeak still works!! His eyes open and close, his outfit is in great condition. Behind his neck is what looks like an Oriental sign/brand marking (see picture) of which I cannot find any information on. Also there is a label JAPAN on his clothing in the back. His approximate height is 6\".
The only defects I have observed are:* some black paint has come off of his shoes in the back (see picture)* his head is a bit wobbly (it\'s held on by string) ... not sure if that\'s a defect or not
