In 1954, it was discovered thatsales of Marilyn Monroe calendars could be greatly increased by adding a blackacetate overlay nightie. As the overlay was an afterthought to the productionprocess, it was taped on by hand. Over the years the tape has hardened,discolored and detached, but the acetate and calendar stayed in near mintcondition. The overlay lifts up to reveal Marilyn unencumbered by clothing! Thecalendar is entitled Golden Dreams, with Marilyn being photographed by TomKelly. The teaser overlay is Lace Babydoll Lingerie, which lifts to exposeMarilyn. Imprints include: Posed ByMarilyn Monroe; Golden Dreams; Made In USA; Amalgamated Label Chicago(under litho). Beneath the litho is a Phone Index for writing names andtelephone numbers. Calendar size is the standard 9 1/8” x 13 1/2” with thelitho size being 7 1/2\" x 9 1/2\". The calendar includes a complete 12month pad within the calendar’s art deco brown border.
