Listed for sale is an original womb chair designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International. The chair is an iconic and quintessential representation of organic modernism. The chair is made from a fiberglass shell, which is wrapped in foam, and then upholstered. It is supported by a tubular metal frame.
This particular examples still retains its original fabric and label. The Upholstery shows some discoloration but is in great condition overall. The foam is soft and has not deteriorated.
The chair has its original Knoll Associates, Park Avenue label underneath. It also retains its original feet.
Upholstery
The upholstery is in great shape, with discoloration as can be seen in the photos. All foam is soft and comfortable.
Frame
The frame is in fantastic condition, with light patina and no rust or corrosion.
