Heavy brass box with an attached lid. It measures about 7-1/2\" wide, 6\" deep, and about 8\" high including the pinecone ornamentation on the lid. It is oval in shape and footed. The lid has two pinecones on the top and the rim of the lid is embossed with a floral design. It appears to be solid brass which has possibly been lacquered. It does not attract a magnet. Study the pictures to discover the details. There is \"fluting\" on the lid and the box portion, and on either side is a lion\'s head with a circular ring which serves as handles. The feet are detailed. The lid is not tight, but is in no danger of coming off. It was originally purchased in 1993.
