Vintage PAIR Chinese Carved Red Cinnabar Boxes w Swastika Pattern:

Altho unmarked, these two boxes were made in China in the early 20th Century. They have a swastika pattern on the lids...with reverse and forward orientations (2nd photo). The color is a dark red, not as orange as shown in my photos. There is a red paste inside, of unknown purpose...lipstick? ink? wax? Measuring about 2.25\" square and 1.75\" high, this pair will weigh 2 pounds when securely packed for shipment. You may choose from two different priced mailing options on my invoice.
