Rare and very difficult to find PAIR of, 1930-40s vintage, fully jointed, felt and polyvinyl acetate, (PVA early composition-like plastic)equestrian (horse back) riding sister dolls. These adorable character dollsby Old Cottage Toys, Allargate, England were designed by Greta & Susi Fleischmannand made of stuffed pink felt with jointed arms and legs and swivelheads. They have lovely painted features with nice brown eyes on big sister & blue eyes on little sister, eyelashes, brows, closed mouths andblushed cheeks. Both sisters have beautifully styled, long blond hair with center parts, longbraids tied with red ribbons and thick bangs. The larger size dolls are extremely rare. So, this matching set of 11 1/2\" and 8 1/2\"beauties will be a wonderful addition to any collection. They wear matching beige/tan riding jodhpurs with red vests and leatherette shoes with flat soles to stand. Big sister wears a lovely oval horse pin on her long sleeved shirt and little sister wears a printed ascot scarf. Both dolls still have their original riding crops attached to one arm. They are in very good overall condition with no damages or repairs, no holes or odors as they are from a smoke free homeandno fading(little sister\'s head is slightly warped which is normal due to age andcan be corrected according to the instructions in the four-page, \"Doll News\", article shown, copy enclosed with purchase).She also has a few age spots on herface.These charming dolls are described on page 295, \"15th Blue Book\"-Foulke.
