Vintage Pittsburgh Dirigible Spotlight Antique/brass/classic Automobile 1917 Usa:
Vintage "Dirigible" automobile electric spotlight. Made by Pittsburgh Electric Specialties in 1917. Reads Patent Applied For. US made aftermarket accessory.Mounts to windshield frame with clamp. Brass body and brackets. Aluminum lens bezel. Visually in very good condition. No cracks, dents, gouges, or other visual damage. Original nickel plating on brass parts is dull, tarnished and scuffed. Will polish up to a point and only get better. Nice large brass badge with tarnish but NO damage. Aluminum bezel has tarnish but nice crisp knurling on edge. No damage to it. Lens is convex on outter side. Has a chip on inside edge but is not seen when mounted. Outside of lens is good with very light scuffing. Clamp pivots for pointing light. Clamp goes on round frame that is about 1" or slightly larger. Light has a release tab on bottom so light can be removed from bracket and used as hand spotlight. Has bulb inside but condition unknown. Electric cord is cut at end on light. Original Bakelite end piece is nice with no damage. Nice unusual early accessory that displays well as is or good for restoration. Good for something!
