For yourconsideration we are offering this lovely carved wood box with copper and brassmarquetry done in a Persian style. the box is a dark red colored wood. I am notan expert, however; I believe the wood may be rosewood. The box has a centercarved daisy style flower design with vines on the top. Around this carvedsection is a beautiful border of copper and brass inlay of leaves and a decorativediamond design band and narrowdecorative bands. The sides of the box repeat the inlay border of leaves alongthe sides of the lid. The sides of the box body have a beautiful inlay designin copper and brass of the same leaves with a daisy style flower and the borderband designs. The inside box body bottom and inside bottom of the lid are linedwith a red velvet type fabric. The box is not marked any where I could find. Ido not know the country or origin or the maker of this box. There is a stickeron the bottom with the letter b or the number 9 written on the sticker. I donot know the age of this box. The box is in good condition. The bottom of thebox has some surface scratches probably from sliding on a surface. The inlaydesign appears to be in good condition. There are a few minor marks of wear on the box. The box measuresapproximately 6 & 3/4\" by 6 & 3/4\" by 2 & 7/8\". Thislovely carved and inlayed marquetry box will make a fine addition to yourcollection. I take great care in packaging your purchase.
