These Vintage 16\" Platters are hard to find and this one looks real good,
no chips or cracks just looks like some minor crazing.
If you are wanting to add one to your collection or replace a
damaged one this is the time to do it. You will not always be able
to find a Vintage one of this size very easily in this good of shape.

Most of my Aunts dishes were purchasedin the early
1980\'swhenthiscollectionwas actually
hand thrownandhandpainted .

You can tellbetween thenew and oldin just the weight alone,
theVintagespieces aredefinitely heavier.Also, since the
Vintage pieces are hand paintedwhenyou look at the
ones in the store now or ones recently purchased,
theyare a stamped pattern. You can tell this fromthe imprintinto
the softer dish before itgoes for final firing,
& bythe unevennessof the color ofthe blue is noticeablealso.You will read differentlistings that mention the different
markings on the back. That isanother way for you
to know what is new or old.
The newer pieceshave imprints of3Small Castlesin a triangle,
the older ones haveALargeCastle imprint, with the oldest
being theLarge CastleBackStamp.
Then alongwith this you will see thetinycircleswith
what looks like a\"C\"inside.
The newer will have one, then you\'ll see there is
some that have two and now you will see one\'s
with 3,all spaced aroundtheCastle.
