Vintage Ludlow Letterpress Type tray or drawer. We have been unable to find a Maker\'s mark on this drawer. Maybe it has been worn off or maybe the \"stamper\" had the day off. . Brass handle. This drawer measures approximately 27 5/8\" x 17 5/8\" (longest point to point on face of drawer)(does not include the latch plunger which protrudes about 13/16\" from the side of the drawer).. The handle adds another 5/8\". Makes a great shadow box. Interior depth of the drawer is about 1\" while the outside depth on the back and sides is 1 5/16\". The depth of the front is about is 1 1/2\". The bottom is plywood. This drawer is very solid. The partitions are intact and undamaged. Some of the most beautiful wood we have seen on these drawers.This is the first one of these drawers that we have had with the Metal Label holder on the top of the ride side frame. Looks like factory work and not a field modification.We have wiped the frame off with wood cleaner but have made no attempt to clean the individual compartments. There are 98 compartments. The smaller ones are 1 5/16\" x 1 9/16\" while the larger ones are 1 5/16\" x 2 7/16\".This drawer originally had a metal face over the hardwood front. It has been removed. Otherwise the drawer is original.We will take the spring loose from the screw holding it to the leg for shipping. You will need a screwdriver to reattach it. See close up photo of latch.
