You are looking a very special little microphone (and very rare) made by Turner during the late 1940\'s early 50\'s.
This Turner 88 model microphone strongly resembles the 99 series made all throughout the 1940\'s and used by F.D.R during his fireside chats over the radio. This \"88\" has the classic \"search light\" design that was so popular during that era and comes with it\'s original yoke.
The 88 was unique in that it\'s half the size of the 99 model and has a beautiful off white pastel paint scheme. the 88 came with the stock Cannon XLR connector.The screen is not a chromed mesh material like the 99but a stamped steel solid piece. You can even see a little bit of rust showing through the paint. Other than the grill...the rest of the mic is free of any corrosion and is quite beautiful.
While this mic has been tested the signal is dead. The original element was set at 150 OHMS and while it\'s still inside it will need to be replace with something else if one plans on using the mic? it would actually make a great harp mic due to it\'s small size. Very easy to get into and again...100% complete. The Turner label looks new and completely legible.
The mic swivels smoothly on two screws / pivot points.Simply display this among your other vintage mics in the home, office or studio...or hook her up for use at any live event. It\'s an instant conversation piece. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...for display purposes only.
Again...I cannot stress the rarity of this microphone enough. You probably won\'t see another of these for a couple more years on and certainly not in this nice of condition.
