For Buy It Now is a beautiful and fully functional RCA Model 77U combination RP-178 78 rpm turntable and vacuum tube AM radio/amplifier.

The radio/amplifier has been electronically restored and any bad vacuum tubes have been replaced. The turntable mechanism and motor have been cleaned, lubricated and tested. (This turntable functions in a VERY unique way and I strongly recommend a search of YouTube for videos on its operation. Search for RP-178 turntable or RCA model 77U.)

The AM radio has a hidden, built-in loop antenna. It has strong reception across the broadcast band. There is also provision for connection of an external antenna for even better reception.

The amplifier has two 35L6 audio output tubes. They drive the front-mounted 5” x 7” permanent magnet speaker which is in perfect condition with no tears in its cone.

The cabinet was refinished and looks simply wonderful, although there are some minor nicks and marks that show in the photos. This radio/phono has been used in our home for over four years.

All original labels have been preserved as seen in the photos.

The Bakelite turntable deck is nothing short of magnificent. It’s spotlessly clean and virtually free of any scratches or marks. It just gleams. I particularly like the deep-red ruby-looking “jewel” mounted on top of the tone arm. It’s a nice, distinctive touch.

The knobs are original and all of the beautiful gold lettering is perfect and clear.
