Before the Electro Voice 726 Cardyne microphone there was the 730 and 725 model (with dual elements) which while very similar...has a more distinct front grill.The sheer size of this beauty would make one think it\'s a ribbon mic but it\'s not.The mic does not produce a signal currently but would be ideal for a fix or upgraded element. I\'m not sure what needs to be replaced but mic is 100% complete inside and out. This mic comes with the E.V stand shown.
Introduced in the mid 1940\'s...this was the competition for the famous Shure 55 fatboy when the 725 was introduced though it never measured up in sales and popularity. It\'s virtually the same size as the Fatboy though narrower in stature. It\'s got quite a bit of weight and equally impressive in its design. A must for any hardcore collector of early American microphones.
As seen in the pics provided the microphone does has a few small scuffs and scratches but overall very nice. There are no fractured ribs but there is one slight bent rib at the very top right rear as seen in pic # 5. Best part is the dark black silk screens are free of any holes or shrinkage. It has been preserved very well over the years. The on / off switch slides smoothly and the E.V label looks very nice. The microphone has the polished chrome finish and glows.
The joint mechanism offers plenty of firm resistance to keep this heavy microphone at just the right angle needed. This classic microphone is 100% complete. The threads for both the stand and cable are perfect. This 725 is a rare bird indeed.
I would highly suggest using a heavy cast iron desk or floor stand because of the weight of this microphone. It\'s going to grab plenty of attention anywhere it\'s displayed in the home, office, studio or Man cave. Despite obvious signs of wear this mic is a solid 8 on a scale of 1 - 10 in the cosmetic and sound department. They don\'t come much nicer than this.

The stand isan early 1950\'s eraE.V 423 A microphone desk stand. This is an all aluminum stand with a satin chrome base and satin chrome stem. This model was widely produced by Electro Voice during the 1950\'sthrough 1970\'s. As you can see the stand thread itself is universal and any mic will technically mate to the top of it.
This particular E.V standhas typical lite wear and as you can see. Lite scuffs, scratches and pitting on the top of the base. The chrome stem is very nice. Please let the detailed pictures be your guide. All 3 original rubber pads are included and will keep the stand from scratching any surface it sits on. Mic stand is appx 3 1/2 inches tall X 5 inches wide. These stands are becoming harder to find every year and there is quite a demand for them. I can\'t seem to hold on to these for more than a few days. It compliments any microphone that sits atop of it for sure.
The threading is the universal 5/8 threading so any American screw on microphone will work with this stand.
