Vintage RARE Collin Chassaignac\'s Ecraseur circa 1880 ratchet type No Reserve:

This sale is for the extremely rare Collin Chassaignac\'s Ecraseur circa 1880\'s shown in the photos. This Ecraseur has what appears to be the original chain and is in working order. What is so unique about this one is that it tightens the chain by pivoting the handle. I attempted to show this in the picture and provided a close up of the ratchet mechanism. Most of the discoloration appears to be superficial and could be cleaned up easily, I was advised to not clean and let the new owner determine level of restoration for display. The instrument is 10 5/8\" long as shown engraved on the side of the ecraseur. It is made of a magnetic metal as stainless steel was not used in medical instruments of this time period.
