This vintage restored Griswold Good Health #6 cast iron skillet has been meticulously cleanedand seasoned with organic coconut oil. The skillet sits perfectly flat on agranite counter top, and has no chips, cracks or repairs, and is ready to use. There is some minor pitting on the top handle as well as the bottom center of the skillet. It has a great cooking surface with only very minor utensil marks (seepictures). The overall skillet is 9 1/2” wide spout to spout, and about 13 3/4\"long including the handle. This skillet would be a great addition to anycollection. Email me if you need any further information. Cleaning and Seasoning process: Thecleaning process begins with time in the oven on the cleaning cycle (about 3 ½hours). Once the skillet cools, it is soaked in a white vinegar bath for anhour, and then scrubbed with steel wood and “Bar Keepers Friend”. After all therust and build up is removed, it’s given a thin coat of olive oil. To seasonthe skillet, it’s put in the oven at 200° for 15 minutes. After it’s beenheated, it’s coated with a liberal amount of organic coconut oil and wiped downto remove any excess oil. The skillet is put back in the oven at 300° upsidedown for 15 minutes; then wiped down again to remove any excess oil. It’s thenput back in the oven – this time at 420°- for about 30 to 45 minutes. Once theskillet cools down, a final thin coat of coconut oil is applied to protect thesurface.

Justa reminder, cast iron skillets are not designed for the newer glass/ceramiccooking surfaces. Also, since cast iron can be damaged if dropped ormishandled, I safely pack each piece for shipping.
