Vintage Rhinestone & Navy Cabochon Dress Clips by Clip Mates

This is a vintage set of dress clips made by Clip Mates which was part of Trifari. The KTF marking is there and the clips are numbered 13. They have a geometric shape that contains round bezel-set and baguette shaped rhinestones with a center glass cabochon that is sapphire blue in color and prong set. It bears a patent number on the back along with the number \"13.\" This pair, I believe, were intended to have another piece which would connect these two clips and allow them to be worn as one. I base that on the fact that they have a \"slide\" on the back of them. This is how they were purchased though and they are completely functional. The difference between a dress clip and a fur pin is that dress clips have a clip with tiny prongs to hold them in place on fabric whereas fur pins have two sharp prongs on the back of them that are strong enough to pierce the skin of a fur or heavy cloth coat. Both items were especially popular in the 1930\'s - my favorite movie era!
