This hard-to-find, rare, vintage Sandland Hanley Staffordshire shaving mug features a galea design (a Roman helmet), in a metallic gold finish on a brown glazed ceramic mug. It was made in England and measures 6.5\" long x 3\" wide x 3.75\" tall. It is in very good-to-excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. There is some wear on the very top corner edges of the handle and on the coloring of the gold border trim. Any white spots on the mug that are seen in the photos are specks of house paint that come off easily. The bottom has the mold number, 1420, impressed in it.
