This beautiful handwork wool crewel drapery panel is for sale today. Just material alone is many yards! Colors taupe, greens, muted blues and greys (ie. pictures) Measurement (111.5 x 94.5) is from top finished/pleated edge. The fully extended piece is actually 16 feet 6 inches long. The drape is 9 foot tall with a 6 inch hem. Thisheavily applied wool crewel work is intricate. The drape was made so wide that it took four (4) four foot panels sewn together. This high quality panel has been stored with cedar chips to preserve the wool, so a slight cedar smell may come with the piece, which may just need airing out. There is some yellowing to cream colored background in natural recesses, so they are not obvious or blotchy. The fabric is strong, not ripped or fragile. Yellowing is not obvious once the drapes are hanging, while some fading appears where the drape was exposed to more light while hanging, on outer edge as you can see in picture on staircase (but that is the worst place of fading)View pictures carefully. *note in the pictures where drape is hanging over staircase, the top portion of the drape and about 8 inches of the top portion are not seen. The hooks are no longer in the top pleats, so they could not be hung from a rod. I tried to show yellowing and fading, but when hanging these places are NOT obvious.
