Old, Unique & Rare TRITON Compass - 1950\'s Vintage Scuba Accessory - Perfect condition
This is a very collectable, hard to find, vintage scuba accessory.This is the famous and rare TRITON compass for divers.
It was a unique accessory at the time and it is still today.The compass dial is mounted flat of course (horizontal) but to read it you look into a reflection that shows only the top half of the dial.This makes it very easy to read. You can easily see the direction (N,S,E or W) you\'re travelling and a red line marks the center.I\'ve tried to show this in the pictures.Picture 1 shows what you see when reading the compass.Picture 2 shows that the actual rotating compass dial is flat and you look into a flat vertical surface where you see the reflection.
The compass is flawless. It works perfectly. There are no visible scratches, no marks. The strap and buckle is perfect as well. It\'s nylon.The bottom of the compass says \"Patent Pending\" and \"Made in the USA\".
The original box is good too. The hinge is fine, it locks closed, the top decals are a bit scratched but that\'s hardly noticeable.
It is a really interesting vintage scuba gauge.There aren\'t many opportunities to get one of these - certainly not in this condition. It can\'t get better!
This is an absolutely must-have for any vintage collector - one of the very first scuba diving accessories.
