PLEASE NOTE: Today, Tuesday 10-22-13, I played with the switches on the control panel, and was able to get the record changer assembly to move smoothly, forward and back, along the track. If you punched in a selection number, the carriage would stop at the appropriate position. I do not know if this is a permanent fix, but at least the changer assembly and selection mechanism were in working order.
ITEM: Original vintage Seeburg \"Disco Ball\" Jukebox, Model SMC2, Serial number L205. Very seldom seen available at sale.
THIS MACHINE IS EXTREMELY HEAVY AND IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING. WINNING buyer MUST PICK UP IN THE FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA AREA. Jukebox is on rollers and can be moved around with little effort, but it would take two or more strong men to load it on a truck.
Pick up can be scheduled after cleared funds have been received. MACHINE MUST BE REMOVED WITHIN 7 CALENDAR DAYS OF CLEARED PAYMENT, NO EXCEPTIONS.
Please Note: This machine has not been played in many years, and definitely needs some TLC and restoration repair. It is being sold in presumed \"non-working, As-Is Condition\", with no guarantees given as to functionalbility. I am serious about selling this, I am listing this in regular sale format, with . COMMENTS / CONDITION: This jukebox appears to have been in storage for many years. I have not done anything with it as I know nothing about jukebox repair.
A local collector of Wurlitzer Jukeboxes said that he thinks this model was manufactured in relatively small numbers, because during that era Seeburg had a change of ownership and soon thereafter moved away from the manufacture of jukeboxes. I have not tried to validate his statements.
When it is plugged in, many of the lights work, the record changer spins *SEE NOTE AT TOP OF LISTING*, the Disco Ball rotates, and all the glass panels are in good, unbroken condition. There is a master control panel (see photos) with numerous switches, which may not be properly set to allow the mechanism to function properly - I do not have a manual that shows the proper settings.
The machine needs a professional cleaning and restoration work. There are some scuffs and chips in the wood, the chrome trim and disco ball need to be polished or redone, and one of the arms that hold the top open has come lose from the wood. There is no key and the cash box and door are missing. I can not tell if all the component parts are in the box, as I have no idea what is supposed to be there.
