Vintage Seth Thomas Sonora #5 Chime Clock Adamantine Case with 4 Bell Westminster Chimes. Runs and sounds pretty good (not sure if the bell strikes are in the right order, one sounds off), but the movement is quite dirty, as is the case, which has some paint specks on it. Some small chips at extremities as shown. From 1923, Seth Thomas offered Sonora chime mantel clocks for sale. This is the #5 chime clocks and plays Westminister chimes on a nest of 4 bells with 5 hammers. The case is made of Adamantine, a reddish streaked celluloid veneer that was vacuum formed over inexpensive wood and glued together. The case is just over 14\" high at the peak, 11\" wide, and 7 1/2\" deep. It has a 4 1/2\" brass/silvered face that shows some age. With a bit of cleaning up it would be quite good looking.
