This vintage, bird shaped, sewing notion holder/container has a 6 x 6 x 2 inch box with two drawers that open. The bird is 6.5 inches tall, would hold a pair of scissors and a thimble and has places on her chest and back for a pin cushion. The original pin cushion stuffing remains and may be horse hair. These areas could be repaired by adding more stuffing and some fabric. There are 11 small posts for spools of thread. There is a small, empty hole on box and an empty hole on the top/front of her head. She is painted red and the vintage paint has aged beautifully with a crackled appearance. Drawer are stained wood and may or may not be original. They fit. There are no markings on this item.This sweet bird will brighten your day!
