This vintage elephant cookie jar was manufactured by the Shawnee Pottery Company in Zanesville, Ohio. It stands 12 inches tall and says \"Lucky\" on the front in gold trim. It has been in the family since purchased, used lightly and well cared for. No chips or cracks -- a couple of hairline fractures in the glaze that you can see in the photos. As you can see, the bottom is marked \"USA,\" so it was made before the 1950s, when the company started putting \"Shawnee\" on the bottom. According to Fred and Joyce Roerig\'s The Ultimate Collector\'s Encyclopedia of Cookie Jars (2005), Shawnee \"Lucky\" elephant cookie jars with gold trim and decals are worth $425; you can find them for sale online today for $700 or more. !
