The Sheaffer pen in this vintage set offers a practical feature that eliminates accidental ink stains on shirt pockets. Depressing the \"Reminder Clip\" extends the point and closes the clip so even the most absentminded professor cannot clip the pen to his pocket without depressing it again to retract the point and reopen the clip.

The slim pen and pencil, which measure about 5-1/8 inches, have a chrome or silver tone finish with a straight line or ribbed pattern. Each clip has a raised white dot. Each piece is marked around the middle with \"Sheaffer Made in U.S.A.\" My research indicates that this set likely dates to the 1970s.

The pen works and the ink cartridge has some amount of blue ink. The refill is marked \"Sheaffer ® Stainless Steel Tip Ballpoint Refill U.S.A. Pat. 2,678,634\" around the middle and \"Med.\" at the top. The pencil has some lead in it, two refills and the eraser, which has hardened. Twist the top to extend and retract the lead.

The instruction sheet covers this pen and pencil as well as a few other Sheaffer products and contains the warranty.

Please review the photographs for overall condition. The pictures have some glare and many reflections. The pen and pencil have a few scratches and/orspots (see the 5th and 8th pictures for examples). The box sleeve shows wear overall and especially along the edges. The instruction sheet also shows some wear.
