Up for offer is a vintage (and heavy) classy pen holder that has a built in speaker! Beveled front marked \"Sheaffer\'s\". Pen holder/swivel works as it should. The piece measures 10 inches by 6 inches by 3/4 inch and weighs almost 5 pounds! The base material appears to be made of black onyx or marble or some other type of like material. The speaker is housed in a metal riser with a brass grate on the front. The grate holds a fabric calendar that was interchangeable. One calendar of July and August of 1964 comes with the piece, and we believe that July of 1964 was the last time this piece was used. There is a small chip by the base of the speaker riser and we have tried to show that in the pics. We believe the speaker is a Western Electric brand of incoming speaker, very close to a 1960\'s telephone earpiece, but please do your own research to verify. We have not tested the speaker as we do not have an old 24 volt Ma Bell telephone jack to use to test it. We have seen others like this piece that have a name plate attached to the beveled edge over the \"Sheaffer\'s\" mark and we think the holes on the beveled edge are to hold a name plate or a brand plate. The original felt is attached to the base, but it is loose in some areas.
