Rare Vintage SHELLEY ART DECO "BLUE IRIS" Queen Anne ShapeTeacup & Saucer SetPattern 11561Mint condition! Description- I am pleased to offer a beautiful vintage teacup and saucer set made by Shelley, England
- Prized QUEEN ANNE shape with its octagonal shape and offsetting saucer in a very Art Deco influence style
- This is the BLUE IRIS pattern
- Hand painted over transfer with matching handpainted trim and other enamelled details
- According to "Collecting Shelley Pottery" by Robert Prescott-Walker, the BLUE IRIS pattern is one of the most desired the world over by collectors
- The identical pattern and shape is shown on pages 66 and 75 of the above noted reference book
- Very bright unfaded transfer with no wear noted
- Both pieces in perfect condition with no damage, cracks, hairlines or restoration and both pass the ping test
- Teacup measures 3 7/8" across (including handle) and is 2 3/4" tall; saucer is 5 1/2"" across
- Both pieces marked with typical SHELLEY shield mark in green with pattern S 11561 hand painted in blue with printed shape registration number 723404 shown in photos
- Please ignore all white spots on photos caused by camera flash
- This wonderful set would make a great addition to your Shelley collection
