Vintage Signed Hopi Artist Allen Pooyama Quail Pin:
A beautifully crafted sterling silver pin in the form of a Gambel's Quail. It was made and signed by well known Hopi artist Allen Pooyama, probably in the 1950's. Pooyama worked in Tucson for many years with other well-known Hopi artists Morris Robinson and Ralph Tawangyaouma. The quail is 1 7/8 inches by 1 1/2 inches. Decorative stamping artfully depicts the feathers. It is slightly three-dimensional, and is probably hollow on the inside.It is signed withAllen Pooyama's ear of corn hallmark and stamped "sterling". It weighs6.8 grams and has a rollover safety clasp. It is in excellent condition.
