In this sale Iam offering up thisbright oil on canvas painting of4 performerplaying a cello, flute, and hornriding by listed artist Joyce Roybal (b 1955). Each painting she\'s done depicts these sweet colorful characters all playing some sort of instrument. This painting is signed in the lower right. It measures approx. 7 1/2\" X 9 1/2\" and the frame measures 14 1/4\" wide and 17\" inches tall. The frame does have two chips out of it and I have tried to show that in my photos. This is a gold tone frame and is very ornate and has lots of texture. It has a great deal of character.

There is a price on the of $169.00 and I am not going to try and clean it off and I leave that up to you. This painting is signed and it is a painting but I am not an artist and don\'t know if it is hand done or not because they have so many machines that can paint just like a person and sometimes better. It is on canvas and looks to be hand painted either way it is a beautiful piece. The frame is very heavy about 4 pounds and the painting does have the wire on the back ready for hanging.

Some history on the artist:

Roybal is a multi-talented artist who has been highly influenced by the work of Graciela Boulanger. Her style of color and balance of characters in her paintings reflects a wide range of styles, ranging from musical statements of children learning to play instruments, to sports, involving children at play with polo and football, allowing her audience to capture a pure moment of innocence and celebration of being a child.

Her main theme throughout her work underlines the essence of music and play, and the role it has throughout many of life\'s many encounters. At times her work is very textured giving it an old world feeling with a contemporary theme, while at other times her use of color is very graphic, going from muted tones to very bright and bold. Some refer to her images as \"Puffy People\".
