AUTHENTIC Vintage \"Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread\" Prayer.......c 1930s
This vintage sampler dates from approximately the 1927-1939 when \"motto\" samplers were made by homemakers. Authentic motto samplers are rarely signed or dated; most were sold as kits that included supplies with X\'s stamped on linen. It was then cross stitched, washed to remove the blue markings and then framed.These samplers work well with many decors--Victorian, Colonial, Primitive or Shabby Cottage. They look great hung by themselves or grouped in a collection.
This sampler with frame measures 15\" long x 8 3/4\" wide x 1/2\" thick.
This sampler remains in it\'s original frame, which is made of black wood that shows some minimal wear....It retins a vintage, aged background, which blends so well with your other antiques. This sampler could be removed from it\'s frame, soaked in soap and water overnight to remove the soil dried, ironed and re-framed. Most people however, like the aged look....
