Vintage Singing Treholipee Ukelele By Swagerty 1960s Rare Murf the Smurf Decal:
$275.00

If you are at all a fan of California Surfer Beach Culture of the 1960\'s, or need some extra tiki flare, this obscure piece is for you.

These rare (though functional) ukuleles were made by the Swagerty Co. of San Clemente, California and became pretty popular in the 60s. The most peculiar part of the design of The Singing Treholipee was the uber long headstock. The concept was that when you were out surfing you could stick the neck in the sand, and then pick back up where you left it once back on land. Pretty bitchin\'.

This particular model also features the even more rare \"Murf the Smurf\" decal that preceded later makes of the Treholipee, making it all the more desirable as a collectible piece of American Surf Culture.

This rare ukulele is in excellent vintage condition. Pictures show uke in natural light with close-ups to highlight just how great of shape it\'s in. As we are not stringed instrument technicians, the instrument has not been tuned. However, all tuning pegs are intact, tight and the instrument is strung with nylon strings.

As with all vintage purchases, the instrument is sold AS IS! As can be seen in the photographs and after test playing, ukulele is in totally playable condition. :-)
