Antique brass sea horse
Purchased during a trip to Venice in the mid 1950\'s
These pieces are used on the gondolas as ore holders, and this still has both loops attached to the horse\'s mouth
Heavy solid construction.  It weighs 4.5 pounds
It is in great condition, with a couple of very small scratches.  No breaks, cracks, repairs, etc.  
It measures about 11\" tall and 12\" wide
Although this is a very collectible piece, my guess is that it was not used on a gondola and could be purchased from a shop in Venice
I originally purchased this from an estate sale in Los Angeles.  It was one of a pair, and I made the chose not to purchase the 2nd horse because it was broken.
