Vintage Solid Cast Silver Ring - Orville Tsinnie:

Vintage sandcast domed silver ring by Navajo artist Orville Tsinnie. Ring face measures 1 15/16\" tall by 5/8\" wide. Slightly domed, but unlike most of Mr. Tsinnie\'s well known hollow domed rings, it is cast solid. Shank is constructed of three split half round wires and measures a size 7 1/2 on my mandrel. Marked sterling and with Mr.Tsinnie\'s Shiprock hallmark, it weighs 17 grams. Very comfortable to wear. I believe this is probably an early work...it has seen considerable loving wear, and is quite different in construction from his more recent domed rings. Sadly, Mr. Tsinnie is recently deceased, but his beautiful art continues his legacy. This ring is a fine example of his simple, strong designs. It is a good style match to a vintage sandcast bracelet in another of my current sales. In excellent vintage, wearable, andcollectible condition.
