Beautiful old souvenir which says EL CAMINO REAL SAN DIEGO-LOS ANGELES SAN FRANCISCO on the copper cross -piece sign. The balance of the itemis brass. Inscribed on the bell itself is: 1769-1905 EL CAMINO REAL. Inscribed around the edge of the base is: GUIDE POST MARKING EL CAMINO REAL THE KINGS HIGHWAY MISSION BELL. This item is in very fine condition , nice old patina consistent with age. Measures 9 1/2 inches tall and is 23/4 inches across at the base. This bell isvery impressive, stands firm and straight, nice tinkle to the bell, and is actually quite heavy. Lots of workmanship: bell screws into the brass line above it as does the pole into the base.Bottom of the base reads FORBES PAT. 1914 .This is NOT a modern reproduction.
