Vintage Sterling Silver Trumpet Vase, Tiffany & Co., New York, NY Circa 1907-47:

The vase measures 9 inches in height and has a weight of 232 grams or just over 1/2 pound of 925 Sterling Silver. Using the internet I determined 2815 as seen on the bottom is the pattern number that they used back then in their markings and discovered that this pattern was first put into production sometime between 1870 & 1875. The rest of the marking on the bottom dates this particular piece to have been made between 1907 and 1947. It ismonogrammedon one side \"MFR\" as pictured but not on the other side. The top opening of the vase is a little waivy as seen probably from having been dropped. This could easily be repaired by Tiffany or some of the companies that repair musical brass instruments. I also noticed on the bottom and maybe does not show up well in my pictures that just below the numb er 2185 is hand scratched the number 10777 with what looks like an arrow pointing to the number 8 digit. On the other side under the stamped number 18306A is hand scratched the numbers 7/70. Obviously these numbers have a significance, but what it is I do not know. This is a very interesting piece and will nicely display in your collection of vintage Tiffany vases.
