This is a vintage \"Sucker Die Box\" magicians prop, from an unknown maker. This is an older piece, most likely from the 1970s, I was told, but I\'m not certain. It\'s a unique, small version of this stage classic and is considerably smaller in size, than the usual, \"standard\" size die boxes, which I have pictured, for size comparison. This is a wood box, with solid wood die. This box has the usual features, PLUS this has the desirable \"double-door\" feature. Anyone familiar with this prop, knows what this is. I won\'t go into detail about the routine, I\'m sure you know it, but this is a true classic of magic. This is an older prop and does show signs of use. The red/black/gold paint is nice and bright, but has the usual small nicks here and there from use. Die spots are fading a bit and some show some wear, but a little cleaning may brighten them right up. The box just needs a little TLC, as one might expect. Door hinges are snug, with no wobble and were painted when built new. A couple are even a little stiff, but have most likely never been lubed. Some paint touch-up in small places, and spots cleaned, or new spots applied on die etc. That is, IF you want it to look \"new\". Or, you may choose preserve its vintage character and add to your collection as is. Again, this piece is not perfect, but looks nice for its age. But, you be the judge.Size of this box is appx - 61/4\" x 31/2\" and smaller 23/8\" sq. die. I don\'t know the value of this item, but I do know that this size die box is rare to find and would be a nice addition to any magic collection.
