This is a M.C. Co\'s GIM 3007 model swag hanging lamp with hobnail glass globe. M.C. Co. was a lamp manufacturer who produced lamps during the WWII era 1940-late 1960s. This wonderful vintage swag lamp measures approximately 19\" from where chain connects to ornate cast metal top to the bottom ornate cast metal piece. The globe measures approximately 8\" round. The lamp has a 14 1/2\" ft chain. Weight approximately 9 lbs 5 oz. The condition is good consistent with age and it works beautifully. It looks to have had a thumb roll off/on switch added as there is a black taped section. The non-polarized plug looks to be in good condition. The top cast piece has all the screws to hold the globe and looks original to the lamp. The bottom cast piece has a lighter color than the top piece so I am not sure whether it\'s original to the lamp or not. Outside of the glass globe has small amount of amber color flaking mostly at the collar rim. Inside is smooth to the touch. The globe is not cracked and no breakage is seen. The metal chain is discolored. The socket is made from porcelain and is clean of corrosion and no breakage. The lamp is in good working order but may need to be rewired. No fraying of the wiring is seen from the splice that was made to the lamp. This beautiful vintage piece was found at an estate sale and is being sold as is.
