Charles Reugebegan his company in Sainte Croix, Switzerland, making large exquisite musicboxes & musical pocket watches in 1865.

The box is approx.2-1/2\" tall with the lid in place and 5\" in diameter. Overallcondition is good with some minor scratches and scuff marks which would beconsistent with its age. Still has what looks to be the original powder puffinside. It is engraved on the bottom: “Made in Switzerland, Reuge Sainte-Croix”.There are three wooden button feet on the bottom.

Music box is in working condition. I’veplayed it through twice. There’s part of a paper label on the bottom with thename of the melody, “Old Vienna. Waltz”. There is a metal pin on the outeredge. Music stops when the pin is depressed when lid is put on the box. Powderpuff does raise the lid just a little and may prevent music from turning off.Just press down or remove the puff. Overall, this is a very sweet vanity musicbox.
