This is a vintage unfinished Scroll or Fan molding 6.5\" x 3.5\" from Syracuse Ornamental Co., found on \"Plate #44: Scrolls: Queen Anne and William and Mary\" in the \"Ornamental Borders, Scrolls and Cartouches in Historic Decorative Styles\" book by the Syracuse Ornamental Co.

Over the next few weeks I will be listing pieces from a large box of vintage architectural moldings. I believe them to be from 2 very early wood/wood fiber manufacturers. Some of them are marked Syracuse Ornamental Company (Syroco). Some are Lignine from the Ornamental Products Company of Detroit, Mi. (assumption based on research and a 1927 Price List from the Ornamental Products Co. in the box.) Very few have the identifying company logo because I believe these moldings were actually samples attached to display boards for cabinetmakers, and not for sale to the public. Some have residue paper on the back, and most have the Item or Catalog numbers on back instead. Both companies operated during the same periods beginning in the early 1900s and appear to have produced very similar items at that time. I\'m certainly no expert, so cannot guarantee which is which unless I have found them specifically pictured in the book. Some of the later pieces are more easily assumed to be Syroco when they began to add more resin and to paint them.
