You are offerding on a Vintage The Mother by Pearl S. Buck with Original Bookmark. HCDJ. 1934 First Edition!! Dust jacket of a 1st edition should have on therear panel, a list of the author\'s four other novels by this publisher up to this time (Author\'s first novel, 3rd in list, states it is in its 7th printing at the time of this 1st edition). Front flap not price clipped, shows synopsis, rear panel shows promotion for her translation of the Chinese Classic, Shui Hu Chan (All Men Are Brothers) by Shih Nai-An which was in its 3rd printing at the time of this 1st edition. Dust jacket does show shelf wear and is age toned, especially along the spline. It also has small chips along the edges and one chip along the spline. The actual book has very nice brown boards with gold inlay on the front and spline. A presentation is written on the first blank page. The rest of the book is in great condition with just a few light brown spotting on several pages. Included with this book is the original book mark put out by John Day Books, Publisher of this book. This is the perfect book for your library or collection!!!!
