Offered here a beautiful antique 18K Gold Tiffany & Co. pendant watch, with guilloche enamel & seed pearls. The watch measures 30.4 mm across by 41.4 mm from top to bottom.
The decoration on this watch is absolutely beautiful.
Porcelain dial with blue and gold has a hairline about 8 o\'clock position.
On the side at this position there is a bit of enamel missing as well.
This most likely from hit in this area.
The rims of the front and back covers have a leaf motif set with seed pearls.
Blue hard enamel was applied to the recessed areas around the leaves.
The back cover was machine engraved in guilloche manner and then hard blue enamel applied
to this area and fired in the kiln at over 1400 degrees F.
Same enameling process done on the rims.
Each pearl had to have a seat cut into the gold and then was fastened using gold beads raised from the surrounding gold area. I am writing this as one familiar with these techniques first hand.
Much work was put into a timepiece such as this one. Had you gone to a Tiffany store and tried to find a piece of similar materials and craftsmanship you\'d have to spend 3 or 4 times as much as out price here.
While doing some research online we found another Tiffany & Co. pendant watch that sold at sale for
$2460 in 2013. Surprisingly the serial numbers for both are very close, so most likely done in the very same time period. It ends with 7583 and ours ends with 7579 !!
Here is the link to that you can see the watch offered here is missing the top portion but has many more pearls set in the case, 40 seed pearls to be exact. There are some antique enameled suspension pieces to be found on the Internet if you want to wear it as a pendant watch.Shipping will be by FEDEX insured and cost $40.We accept PayPal payment on this item from buyers with a response of 75 and above.
