Vintage Tole Painted Red Hand Made Wooden Box with Lid Possibly Russian Toleware:

Deep red background with ochre, sienna, green and black flowers and geometrics painted on every side. Black wooden handle in center of lid. This is a hand made wood box, and it has wooden braces under the lid and under the base to keep it square. The bottom of the box is painted in a color that is red, mixed with black. This box is very pretty! Lid is signed in the corner, R.H. I believe the box is Russian, as it came from the estate of a Russian lady, and the box had Russian ornaments inside. It could very well be Scandinavian, or Swiss.
