Beautiful 1920\'s blue and black velvet dress-attic find-un-circulated.
This dress was acquired 20 years ago in an attic in the Midwest and has been stored awayever since.
The dress is very French looking-Rich glorious blue and black velvetfeaturing a sheer beadedpanel piece in front with sheer beaded sleeves-a large black velvet rosette cluster at one sidewith long blue and black fringe.
This dress is being sold AS FOUND-AS IS.
There are some random dark spots on the sheerbeaded panel piece on the front of dressand the blue velvet shows some random areas with yellowish spots and dusting from storage(I believe these spots can be cleaned but am unsure).There is also some discolorationon the underside ofthe dress and some discoloration inside at arm pit area. There is minimal bead loss-see picture of sleeve cuff. There is a tear in the sheer fabricon one sleeve and a hole in top layer of fabricaround one of the snaps. The velvet is still vibrant and sturdy and I do not note any holes in the velvet fabric.
There apparently was a undergarment as there are snaps at front area that are not viable to the front panel/sheer beadedpieceand because the undergarment is missing, the panel/sheer beadedpiecewill not snap properly because apparently the missingundergarment provided those snaps-I believe it could be fixed easy enough by adding snaps so thesheer beaded piececan be closed.
Note: I believe this dress can be restored to its original glory and Imake no excuses forthe issues that it has acquired over the last almost 100 years-it is quite exquisite and worthy of any vintage collection.
Measurements taken with dress laying flat-
40\" from collar down to hemline
18\" across arm pit to arm pit
18 1/2\" across waist area
18\" across at Rosette area-where blue meet black
18\" sleeve inseam
NOTE-the sleeves are very slender and measure 3 1/4\"- 3 1/2\" at wrist area and measure 4 1/2\" across where the sheer fabric starts-there is no give in those areas because of the heavy bead work.
