on a Vintage Sterling Silver Necklace

Finelycrafted sterling silver setting with prayer feather with

bezel-set red coral andturquoise nuggetgemstones.

A matching pair of stud earrings comes with the pendant.

The pendant was craftedby an unknown Native American silversmithand carries the artist hallmark.

I have not been able to identify the artist that created this pendant.

The pendant is combined withavintage, 2mm sterling silver ropenecklace made in Italy.

Both the pendantand necklace are in exceptional, as-found condition.

Native American artisans have paired turquoise with red materials in jewelry for a long time.

It isa beautiful combination of color and contrast, rooted in symbolic meaning.

Coral is not found in any ocean of the Americas, therefore any \"red gold\"used in their jewelry

would have come to the Americas through trade or \"wampum\" (trade beads) after the

Spanish Conquistadors arrived in 1521. This bright red Mediterranean coral is rare today.

The pendant, necklace and earrings have not been cleaned or polished, only wiped off with a jewelers rouge

before pictures were taken.All pieces retain theiroriginal patina.
