Here we have a VINTAGE US Customs House Scale Hydrometer Proof & Tralle\'s Scales Instrument for Alcohol Spirits.A Proof and Tralle hydrometer directly measures the alcohol content of distilled alcohol or spirits. This hydrometer provides 2 scales of measurement which are Proof (the US International Revenue Scale for proof of spirits) and Tralle (the actual percentage of alcohol). It is calibrated to give accurate readings at 60F (15.6C). You can get readings of up to 200 Proof or 100% alcohol content. This old unit (approx.1920-40 vintage) appears to still be in working condition with no cracks or chips in the glass tube. It comes in its original pressed paper tube. The outside tube and sliding cap have some wear. The hydrometer is approx. 11\"L. Nice collectible piece.
