Vintage WWII / WW2 M17 Tripod of wood and metal, painted green. Alloriginal. A portion of the leather strap has broken away (we still have that piece as well). In very good used condition (most of the wear is to the base of the legs)...all original. This came back from the war with my stepdad. We arenot sure what it is intended to support (we have seen descriptions which claimthese were gun mounts, binocular mounts, camera mounts, etc).We have two available. This listing is for the one with the silver cap at the top. We do not know the purpose of this cap and have not seen any other tripods with this component.There are a variety of parts numbers printed on thevarious pieces that make up the tripod. There is a metal plate near the top which identifies this as a M17 tripod. Dimensions: about 44\" tall.
