Up for your personal art collection is this lovely vintage watercolor (print?) of one of the traditional, beautiful carved wooden Szekely Gates from the Transylvania region of Romania. It is mounted on illustration board and not framed. I confess, I am not sure if it is an original watercolor or a print of a watercolor. It looks more like a print of a painting. The painting shows some wear, and a little staining top left. The illustration board also shows some stains in one corner and there\'s a small piece out of another corner. Truly, once this is matted and framed properly, these will not show.
The colors are pale blue, various tones of brown and beige, light green. It shows the gate on a sunny day in acharming old Romanian village.
Painting measure 9x6\", the illustration board measures 12x9\".It appears to date back to the 1930s or 40s. I show a photograph here of a gate so you can see the similarity to the painted one!I hope you\'ll give this lovely picture a new home!
